NU VEAU is curated to be an on trend, current market for those who love unique, fashionable, sustainable and ethical goods and is a market that will elevate your brand.  It's about creating a memorable, unique shopping and selling experience through modern, minimalist styling, intentionally curated, crafted goods for body and home, a space for shoppers to happily spend time in good company around beautiful things and extra consideration towards our makers.  Ahead of the market an online LOOKBOOK magazine is released to announce the line up in a fun, unexpected way for shoppers to browse, in place of the common website vendor listing.  

The market has a nontraditional vibe from experience, to layout to venue.   You will be amongst the very best, most sought after makers, with booths flowing around a centre courtyard music lounge in Nanaimo at the stunning Vancouver Island Conference Centre, chosen for the floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass, concrete and downtown energy.  Airy linen for pipe and drape, layered rugs and a mix of greenery and fall/winter colour is this year's decor and vendors have a private lounge to sneak away to, with refreshments and space to store extra inventory.  A private vendor access page details all of the necessary information, with regular updates, for easy reference (no scrolling through emails to find what you need or hoping you didn't miss one).  Friday evening is a ticketed, gala style, sip and shop with bubbly beverage, a sweet treat, NU VEAU tote bags and dj.  Saturday|Sunday ($5 entry fee) also have NU VEAU tote bags for select shoppers.  Extensive, paid advertising is taking place right up to the market, as well as a consistent social media presence.
  • WHAT ARE THE BOOTH FEES AND OPTIONS?
    Between the two venues there are multiple booth sizes and prices. Please visit the individual applications to choose the best option for you.
  • HOW IS NU VEAU DIFFERENT?
    GALA SIP AND SHOP. This will be a ticketed event where shoppers will receive champagne, a delectable treat and NU VEAU gift bags. Shoppers will have the first chance to chose from the best selection while enjoying an evening out with dj and courtyard lounge. This is a great opportunity to showcase a unique product. STYLE and DESIGN. NU VEAU is a professional market in a beautifully styled venue with linen pipe and drape (in place of polyester), string lights and accent decor. LIVE FASHION ILLUSTRATION. The absolutely amazing Isabel Dusmann will be doing live fashion illustrations for the Friday evening gala. 25 randomly selected guests and 3 vendors will get the very fun and unique experience to have a fashion illustration drawn of themselves! PHONE BOOTH AUDIO GUEST BOOK. We are doing a giveaway for a gift box filled with beautiful goods from the makers ...but... we are elevating the entry experience by having a really fun audio guest book (in the form of a vintage phone) inside a phone booth, to collect the entries. The phone booth will also be a photo booth for selfies and to leave a comment, review or a happy little message. For inspo on what this will look like click here. VENDOR CARE. Being vendors ourselves we have created NU VEAU as our dream market with all of the things we want to see. Intentional styling, entertainment and marketing and unique ways to draw a younger crowd. A vendor access page where all of the important information is in one place and digging through emails for past information can be avoided. A private vendor lounge, daily refreshments and storage for additional inventory. Clear, calm communication to create as stress free of an environment as possible, especially during set up and take down. Personal connection - we want to know you! A live fashion illustration for 3 vendors (part of the gala night exclusive for the shoppers) offered in a draw done by and extrememly talented Vancouver artist and is a rare treat. Live music throughout the entire event. No canned music. ​ Unique ways to draw in the right demographic. On brand signage, extensive advertising including radio, news paper, social media, the LOOKBOOK catalog and giveaways. ​​ Professionally photographed event with follow up advertising of vendors that vendors will have rights to use. ​ 1 year feature in the LOOKBOOK.   • WHAT IS THE LOOKBOOK?
    The LOOKBOOK is a our way of introducing the makers. Instead of listing our vendors on the website in the usual, expected way we announce our vendors in a fun unexpected way by releasing an online magazine to browse. The LOOKBOOK features collective campaigns photographed by a local professional and individual write ups, prices and photos. For a nominal fee you will get to keep and use the professionally shot images for your own marketing.
  • WHO CAN BE AN EMERGING ARTIST?
    The emerging artist bursary is for a young maker under the age of 25 who would like to turn their craft into a business. No business experience is required as we will grow and develop all areas of marketing, branding, and selling etc. handmade goods. The successful young entrepreneur must have a desire and drive to expand a creative business and put the required work in to see it succeed. The estimated value of this bursary is $3000.
  • CAN I PARTICIPATE FOR ONLY ONE DAY?
    It is required for vendors to take part in all 3 days of the market.
  • WHAT IS THE VENDOR LOUNGE?
    Both venues will have a chic vendor lounge with bites and beverages where a short break can be taken. An area for storing inventory for quick and easy restock will also be provided.
  • WHAT IS VENDOR ACCESS?
    Once you have received notification of acceptance you will be given a passcode to the VENDOR ACCESS page. On this page you will find EVERYTHING you will need to know about the market from load in times, to maps, social media images, LOOKBOOK instructions, parking instructions, insurance, swag bag items, group booking rates, updates etc. We offer a VENDOR ACCESS page so that you can view the market details at any time without having to scroll through, and hopefully find, the information you are looking for in emails, which are often easy to miss. It is a one stop spot to get the information you need quickly and accurately.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?
    Notification of acceptance will be given within 2 weeks of applying and the full booth fee plus the LOOKBOOK fee is due within 72 hours of acceptance to secure your spot. Once your payment is received you will be given the password to the VENDOR ACCESS page where you will find all of the important details, including: images, map (closer to the events), load in and load out instructions, parking, group booking rates for accommodations, an "updates" section etc.
  • WHEN WILL I KNOW IF I'M ACCEPTED?
    NU VEAU market is a juried event and applications will be reviewed when received. As makers ourselves we understand how important it is to know as soon as possible of acceptance so plans can be made. For this reason, acceptance will be given within two weeks of applying until all categories are filled. A waitlist will be made available as categories fill. While NU VEAU is not on a first come first served application model, vendors that apply earlier are more likely to receive their desired booth size. Notification will be sent for both acceptance and non acceptance.
